A limited edition with all the original appointments just like it debuted in '58.
Fifty
years ago, Gibson debuted a new series of guitars referred to in the 1958 catalog as the Modernistic series. Designed by
Ted McCarty, they were far enough ahead of their time that the originals languished until a later generation of players enthusiastically
adopted them. Fewer than 50 original Explorer guitars were shipped during 1958, making them among the most collectible guitars
ever. This special 50th Anniversary 1958 Korina Explorer Electric Guitar, featuring a one-piece korina body and neck is limited
to a run of 100 guitars.
A solid korina body and stopbar bridge are the primary elements of tone and sustain for this
awesome axe, which you can wield handily thanks to the Gibson Explorer Guitar's player-friendly setup. A 19th fret neck joint
means you can shred all the way to the highest notes on a rosewood fretboard. A tune-o-matic bridge and mini Grover tuners
keep your strings spot on in tune even when you're bending the night away. All this sound is superbly telegraphed to your
amp by two ceramic magnet humbuckers.
